| We are a small congregation but we attempt to make the most of our energies and resources by joining with other groups, both religious and community-based, to support humanitarian projects in our area. Examples include supporting homeless shelters, food drives and other community efforts.
We have a “last Sunday offering” each month where funds collected are donated to a local organization that works for justice or supports humanitarian causes.
We provide a meeting place for groups that promote progressive causes. In the fall of 2009 we hosted the organizational meetings and poster-making party for local citizens protesting

We are a founding member of the North Sound Community Alliance, a broad-based community organizing coalition.
We support immigrant rights, and in 2008 we were one of only two churches to sign a statement of conscience to that effect.
Congregational members are involved in all aspects of community life in the various communities where we live from volunteering at the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon to supporting the rights of migrant farmworkers. We welcome your ideas, energy and passions. |
